Hello Oslo, let’s talk soup!

Food and I are a love story. Sprinkle the dullest PPT presentation with clipart of tiny cupcakes and it will hold my eye. Mention the presence of buffet vol-au-vent during the course of the longest, most tedious conference and I will stay put. What’s more, there is little I love more than soup. When I lived in China, I subsisted mainly on slow cooked lotus root and pork broth – a recipe by my dear friend and fabulous cook, Lulu.

In my love of soup, I am not alone. Lewis Carroll writes:

Beautiful soup, so rich and green

Waiting in a hot tureen!

Who for such dainties would not stoop?

Soup of the evening, beautiful soup!

Beautiful soup! Who cares for fish

Game, or any other dish?

Who would not give all else for two

Pennyworth of beautiful soup?

(Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland)

At oslo soup, we agree that this magical dish needs no meat or dairy to reach the heights of delight. We also know that lots of you out there love soup as much as Carroll and I do. This is why we are launching the PIMP MY SOUP poll, through which we encourage you to elect one of three delicious vegan recipes for the upcoming event. Soup lovers out there, get voting!  You can find it HERE.  Poll closes on March 22nd at 12:00pm 🙂
