The core team met at social events held through East End Girls, a Meetup.com group co-funded by Giulia. It was during a social walk in Sognsvann that Lo first pitched the idea to launch oslo soup and the team soon expanded to include today’s executive team. After a few months of groundwork, the first oslo soup event date was set and the website launched. The initiative has been met with great enthusiasm by the local community, which supports oslo soup through incredibly meaningful collaborations.

This reflects the spirit of solidarity entrenched in Norwegian society, which has recently rose to the challenge of welcoming an unprecedented number of refugees from conflict areas worldwide. Through a simple donation-based communal meal, oslo soup strives to capture this spirit of solidarity and enable communities to support worthy enhancement projects – fueling ideas one bowl at the time
