Only eight days have passed since oslo soup’s first magic event, and I can still feel the energy of the room. We knew the afternoon would be fantastic, but the fun we had listening to four wonderful projects, eating delightful soup and even better cakes (what a wonderful selection! Pan e Nus really spoiled us) at SYNG far exceeded our expectations. Well done you for choosing such a great soup recipe on the Facebook poll, people were raving about it and came back for seconds. Thank you everyone for coming and making our inaugural event to memorable, we loved every minute of it! We are especially grateful to Southend Soup and Bristol Soup for supporting us; your presence was touching and inspired us to do a little soup tourism of our own. The turnout was so great that it broke our hearts to turn people away, but… oslo soup’s upcoming event @Mesh on August 28th 2016 will host MANY MORE people (edited), so please give us another shot and bring your pals along 🙂

Saying that we could not have done it without you is not an understatement: Hanne, your branding makes us look like a zillion dollars. Rønningen Folkhøgskole, you put the word soup in oslo soup – your support meant the world to us. Marita Butikken, your precious soup vessels made us sail smoothly and avoid all spillages (what are the odds that in a room bursting with people nobody spills a thing?) CopyCat, your business cards make us feel like sleek business women and we love giving them out. Iaraheide, your photographic and video recording skills amaze us every time – thank you for immortalizing our event. Grünerløkka Bakeri, you treated us so well during our Open House & Mug Donation that we can’t wait to do it all again! Sia 3 Verk, we believe your stunning soup box was crucial for Lo to find the confidence to say Solidaritetsnøster as well as she did – we are so grateful to Elise for presenting their fantastic efforts. You are inspiration, and demonstrate that anyone can contribute to make the world a better place!

Finally, we are incredibly appreciative of Oslofjord, Studentens Oslo Guide, The Munch Bunch and Mjau Oslo for joining our first event ever – projects like yours are the reason oslo soup exists and we love you! In fact, we are itching to receive project proposals for our @Mesh event in August. Please visit http://www.oslosoup.org/submit-proposal/ and make yourself heard! We can’t wait to learn about the exciting projects striving to keep Oslo the wonderful community it is.
